Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Startr.in (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares and protects information when you use our website and services at startr.in. By using our services you agree to this policy.

Startr.in is a platform that lets sellers create landing pages and sell digital products online. So there are two kinds of people whose information we handle: sellers (who create an account) and buyers (who purchase from a seller’s page).

1. Information we collect

From sellers:

• Name, business name, email address, phone number and password (stored only in a hashed form).
• Optional business details you add, such as business address, GSTIN, Terms & Conditions text, logo/favicon and colour theme.
• Your Razorpay API keys (the secret key is stored encrypted) and, if you add them, your Google Analytics and Meta Pixel IDs.
• The products, descriptions, images and files you upload.

From buyers:

• Name, email address and mobile number entered at checkout.
• Order details: product, amount, date, payment reference (Razorpay order/payment ID) and the Terms & Conditions version accepted.
• Verification status of your mobile number (see “Mobile OTP” below).

Automatically: basic technical data such as IP address, browser type and pages visited, and cookies described in section 6.

We do not collect or store your card number, UPI PIN, net-banking credentials or other payment instrument details. These are entered directly on Razorpay’s secure checkout.

2. How we use information

• To create and run seller accounts, product pages and checkout.
• To process orders, confirm payments, deliver digital products and generate and email invoices.
• To verify a buyer’s mobile number by one-time password (OTP) and reduce fraud and misuse.
• To show sellers their orders and buyer contact details so they can deliver and support their sale.
• To send service messages (order confirmations, invoices, account notices).
• To keep the platform secure, fix problems, and comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information.

3. Who we share information with

• The seller you buy from. When you buy, the seller receives your name, email, mobile number and order details. The seller is responsible for how they use that information, and their own privacy and refund practices apply.
• Razorpay processes payments. Its use of your data is governed by Razorpay’s own privacy policy.
• Google (Firebase Authentication) sends and checks the OTP for mobile verification. Your mobile number is shared with Google for this purpose.
• Email delivery providers used to send invoices and your purchased file.
• Analytics providers such as Google Analytics and Meta, where the platform or a seller has enabled them (see section 6).
• Authorities, where required by law, court order or to protect rights and safety.

4. Mobile OTP verification

To place an order, buyers verify their mobile number with an OTP. This is done through Google Firebase Authentication. Google may process your number and device/browser signals (including a reCAPTCHA check) to send the SMS and prevent abuse. Standard SMS charges from your operator may apply.

5. Digital delivery and invoices

After a verified payment, the purchased file is made available on the confirmation page and, where the file is uploaded to our server and small enough, attached to the invoice email sent to the address you provided. Invoice links contain a private token; anyone who has your link can open your invoice, so please do not share it.

6. Cookies and tracking

• Essential cookies keep sellers logged in and support checkout security.
• Analytics and advertising pixels (Google Analytics, Meta Pixel) may run on our home page and on a seller’s product pages if they have added their IDs. These may record page views, checkout starts and purchases.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some features may stop working.

7. Data retention

We keep account and order records for as long as the account is active and as needed for invoicing, accounting, tax and legal purposes, and to resolve disputes. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.

8. Security

We use reasonable safeguards, including hashed passwords, encrypted payment-gateway secrets, HTTPS and access controls. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Keep your password confidential.

9. Your rights and choices

Subject to applicable law (including India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023), you may ask to access, correct, update or delete your personal information, or withdraw consent. Sellers can edit most details in Settings. Buyers and sellers can also contact us at the details below. Some records must be kept to meet legal and tax requirements. For information a seller holds about their own customers, please contact that seller directly.

10. Children

Our services are not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will remove it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above shows the latest version. Continued use of the services after a change means you accept the updated policy.
